This year's Alternative Futures and Popular Protest conference sees the
launch of Interface http://www.interfacejournal.net/, a new global online
journal dedicated to research carried out from and for social movements by
movement practitioners and engaged academics alike.
The purpose of this journal is to learn from each other's struggles:
* across movements and issues
* across continents and cultures
* across theoretical and disciplinary traditions.
The vision is for a practitioner journal where activist and academic peers
will review each other's work as part of this process of translation.
The journal will be online, free, and multilingual, in order to make it as
widely accessible as possible
The editors are looking for articles of all kinds as well as people
interested in helping create the journal at many different levels.
The deadline for contributions for the first issue is September 1st 2008.
Visit the website to find out more.
