You are cordially invited to a one-day inter-disciplinary workshop on the
topic of ‘Occupational pensions and labour market flexibility’ on Friday
9th May 2008 hosted by the Centre for Research on Ageing, University of
Southampton.
By bringing together UK and international academic scholars and policy
actors, the workshop aims to stimulate cross-disciplinary discussion on
current debates in occupational pension provision in the UK and Europe
more broadly. The workshop programme includes sessions on:
• Occupational pension provision and labour market flexibility
• Occupational pensions and social responsibility: the role of
employers
• The regulation of occupational pension provision
• The distributional effects of occupational pension provision
• Panel discussion: research gaps and future policy directions
Speakers include: Dr. Asghar Zaidi (OECD); Dr. Bernard Casey (CASS
Business School); Dr. Matthew Haigh (Toulouse Business School); Mr. Robert
Laslett (DWP); Prof. Gordon Clark (University of Oxford); Dr. Traute
Meyer, Dr. Paul Bridgen, Prof. Peter Sunley (University of Southampton)
