Nature Live Manager

Permanent

Salary: £35,000 per annum plus benefits

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums,
internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in
scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural
sciences through public engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department for Learning and be
responsible for innovating and piloting new ways of engaging a wide
audience with science, in our existing flagship Darwin Centre development
and in the run up to the 2009 opening of the David Attenborough studio in
Darwin Centre Two.

You will be responsible for managing the Nature Live team to ensure that
the programme is delivered ‘live’ to the public through the Darwin Centre
Live space. You will work closely with Interactive Media staff and
Learning Audience teams to develop and deliver opportunities for museum
visitors to engage with scientists and their scientific work in person.

To be successful you must have a first degree or equivalent in science or
a related subject, and a thorough knowledge of current issues relating to
public science communication. Proven experience of motivating, leading
and developing teams is also essential.
In return you will receive a competitive salary, generous leave
entitlement of 27.5 days and the opportunity to join a generous pension
scheme.

For further information, including a full job description, and to apply
online please visit The Natural History Museum website at
www.nhm.ac.uk/jobs

Closing date: Sunday 6 April 2008
