I attended a lecture today, not related to my curriculum, held by Hans
Walter Gabler on Joyce's 'Ulysses' and the editorial processes it went
through & its effects &c. interesting lecture, if Gabler was little
incoherent in his exposition occasionally, and I look forward even
more to actually reading Ulysses now. he spoke several passages out
loud with great aplomb, a fine querulous voice with occasional
thunder.
also present as a listener was Leevi Lehto (he is currently
re-translating Ulysses into finnish), whom I spoke to concerning the
anthology me & 4 other poets are working on putting together;
networking is a fine thing. :)
just wanted to mention this to people who would appreciate the mild
excitement. carry on
