A bit more re the eponymous mine of Rio Tinto at Mountain City, Nevada, this
from
Noel, Peter Bell and all,
The focus is in the Mohave County area of the western reaches on Arizona.
The lady for whom we are doing this research mentioned that her grandfather
worked there in the 1938- 1942 time frame. In 1942 said property was sold.
Her grandmother always said the properly was not very far from Needles, CA.
Being it was a base metals mine, Mohave County fits the bill.
Peter Maciulaitis on this list suggested I consult the 1937 and 1942 edition
of the Mines Register which I can access here at the University of Missouri.
I will consult these volumes and if it is still an issue of which Rio Tinto
we are dealing with, then I will turn to the folks at RTZ in the UK. I
cannot thank you all enough for your time and assistance.
Thank you and a Happy Easter to you all,
Jim Besleme
