C21st Curation public lecture at UCL, 30 April 2008
Crucial discussion for all archivists, librarians and museum curators - come
to the C21st Curation public evening lecture at UCL on 30 April 2008 and
hear about the future for curation and the heritage.
Two speakers, Roy Clare (Chief Executive, Museums, Libraries and Archives
Council) and Carole Souter (Chief Executive, Heritage Lottery Fund) will be
talking about the impact of the recent Comprehensive Spending Review on
their respective organisations. This free seminar is open to students,
professionals and the general public in the JZ Young lecture theatre at UCL
from 6.00 -7.15pm, followed by a reception to which the speakers and the
audience are invited.
SLAIS have asked that those who want to attend should reserve a place by

Considerable changes are taking place at present in the ways in which
government is influenced about heritage issues and the ways in which the
organisations involved are funded. What are the implications? Is the
situation getting better or worse? Come and join the audience and discuss
these issues with those who are at the cutting edge of change.
Access to the JZ Young Lecture Theatre is from the Anatomy Department in
Gower St, just south of the main entrance. The reception will be held in the
Gavin de Beer lecture hall in the same building.
