This post is based at the Biostatistics & Bioinformatics Unit (BBU), School of Medicine, Cardiff University. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to take part in cutting-edge research into the genetic susceptibility of a range of psychiatric disorders, using large genome-wide association and gene expression datasets currently being generated at the Department of Psychological Medicine. The post will involve a number of international collaborations. There will also be the opportunity to develop novel statistical methodology for the analysis of such datasets, and to contribute to the teaching and supervision of students on the MSc. in Bioinformatics & Genetic Epidemiology run by the BBU. Training will be available in statistical genetics and bioinformatics.
Applicants should have a first degree, or postgraduate experience, in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or an equivalent discipline. Experience of statistical genetics is desirable.
This post is fixed-term for 2 years.
Salary: £27466 - £32796 per annum.
