Anyone who uses and analyses data but wants to understand statistical
concepts better so that they can summarise their data in a more meaningful
way.
PRESENTING DATA: 13 March & 18 September - RSS, LONDON
Anyone whom is involved in communicating statistics to non-statisticians or
who reports on data - of any description - within organisations, to
specifics communities and to the general public where a message is being
given.
EFFECTIVE PRESENTATION: 18 March - RSS, LONDON
This course is for statisticians, managers and researchers who are expected
to deliver presentations, and who would like to be more polished and
confident in doing so.
RSS ORDINARY CERTIFICATE REVISION: 3 April - RSS, LONDON
Designed to take participants through the topics covered in the RSS Ordinary
Certificate and is for assistant statisticians, data analysts and
quantitative researchers studying for, or thinking of entering for the RSS
Ordinary Certificate.

With Data Mining techniques, it is possible to "mine" data pools for
"hidden" knowledge. Data Mining gives you a major competitive advantage in
view of the key role played by knowledge and knowledge management in the
development of future markets. Especially in the Marketing and Sales fields
the knowledge on future customer behaviour and wishes makes the difference
between successful and average. The course is for audiences engaged in
industry and retail, those that are in duty to support the management with

This course is for anyone who needs to collect data and make decisions based
in insights gained from analysis of the data. Managers and Directors will
especially benefit from this course as a lot of material & discussion will
be strategic in nature.
MULTILEVEL MODELLING: 19-20 May - RSS, LONDON
Statisticians and quantitative researchers with an interest in the analysis
of hierarchically structured data. Previous participants have included
university researchers from the social sciences, medicine and public health
and government statisticians (e.g. DfES, Home Office, ONS). The course will
not assume a high level of statistical knowledge, but participants should be
familiar with the application and interpretation of multiple regression
analysis.
AN INTRODUCTION TO TIME SERIES FORECASTING: 19-20 May - London Mathematical

Applied statisticians and econometricians wanting a detailed introduction to
forecasting using parametric time series models. This includes researchers

COINTEGRATION MODELS IN STATISTICS AND ECONOMETRICS: 29-30 May - RSS, LONDON
The general market for this course is applied statisticians and
econometricians wanting an advanced short-course in cointegration modelling.
This includes researchers working in academia, banking/finance, consultancy,

UNDERSTANDING CREDIT SCORING: 4 June - Crown Leeds Plaza Hotel - LEEDS
This workshop is designed for those who do not work in credit risk but wish
to understand a little about credit scoring and how it is used in a modern
consumer lending environment.
BUILDING A CAREER AS A STATISTICIANS: 17 June - RSS, LONDON
Graduate statisticians in their first 2 to 5 years of experience working as
applied statisticians. The aim of the course is to introduce a framework for
planning Continuing Professional Development and to introduce an awareness
of the range of skills that are required to be a successful statistician in
a team-based work setting where role and organisational changes are the
norm.

Is designed for researchers who want to learn, review and develop their
skills to choose, understand and use appropriate methods for analysis their
data. For nurses, physios, radiologists and occupational therapists engaged
in quantitative research.
EFFECTIVE MENTORING AND COACHING: 26 September - RSS, LONDON
Mentoring and coaching can be powerful, and cost-effective ways of
developing people within the workplace. There is a wealth of evidence to
show that the usefulness of mentoring and coaching relationships is
significantly enhanced if the mentor/coach has been trained in how to
undertake the role. The course is for experienced statisticians or senior
managers who are willing to act as mentors or coaches to less experienced
colleagues.
