NATIONAL PERINATAL EPIDEMIOLOGY UNIT
Statistician/Epidemiologist
Grade 8 - £33,779 to £40,335
Applications are invited for the new full time post of
Statistician/Epidemiologist to work on a project which is looking at the
effects of prenatal alcohol consumption and alcohol metabolising genes
on child growth and development in the ALSPAC study. The post is funded
by The Wellcome Trust for 18 months from September 2008 and is based in
the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced statistician or
epidemiologist to develop their experience and skills working on an
important and policy relevant topic area using data from an
internationally renowned cohort study. You will be responsible for
developing the analysis plan and for undertaking all the data analysis
along with preparing papers and reports for publication as well as
presenting study results at national and international meetings and
conferences.
We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in statistics or
epidemiology who has practical experience of working on epidemiological
cohort studies and managing large and complex datasets.
