currently available at CERN, Switzerland:
1) Opening for two posts,
one staff, one fellowship at CERN:
a. Staff position: Manager of
Dissemination Activity for the Enabling Grids for E-sciencE project, based at
CERN. The successful candidate will manage the communication and dissemination
activities of the largest global IT infrastructure project ever funded by the
EU. Responsibility for a team of about 20 persons distributed at several sites
in Europe, handling events, press and public relations for the project.
Requirements: a degree in a communications-related field or science/engineering,
excellent command of English, at least 3 years management experience of a large
communications project. Proven ability to develop and implement a communication
strategy, inspire team members to achieve their best, and manage tight
deadlines. Practical experience with multimedia and Web 2.0 technologies would
be beneficial. No nationality requirements.

b.
Fellowship position: Dissemination Officer for the Enabling Grids for E-sciencE
project, based at CERN. The successful candidate will support the activity
manager in the coordination of the activity’s programme of work; edit and
produce dissemination material, including posters, flyers, brochures, and any
reports required in the management of the project, collecting relevant data and
stories to publicise the successes of the project; edit and publish regular
newsletters for the project in close collaboration with the iSGTW editor
(www.isgtw.org); coordinate with collaborating projects on common dissemination
efforts.

Communications Officer for CERN openlab, based at CERN (fellowship)
The
successful candidate will coordinate major events and draft press releases and
reports for CERN openlab, a novel collaboration between CERN and leading IT
companies such as Intel, HP and Oracle. Requirements: a degree in
communications-related field or science/engineering, excellent command of
English, at least one year practical experience of communications in a corporate
environment. Ability to assimilate new technical information quickly and express
it in written or oral form to the press or public. The candidate must be a CERN
member state national.
