Dear Cynthia, (Dear All)
I read your posting on the convenor comment string with much interest and I
am most grateful you are offering me a copy of your abstract - Yes, please!
I am reflecting on how 'differentiated instruction' might overlap with the
practice (and theorisation) of 'differentiation' which was so useful in the
teaching of modern foreign languages around 2000. Do Coyle and Anne Convery
wrote an excellent booklet which my PGCE students found very useful. It has
quite recently been republished http://www.cilt.org.uk/publications/cpf8.htm
This morning I added (stitched) a new web page to the AERA paper that I will
be constructing on line until 31st March at http://www.TeacherResearch.net
I have added a learning journey journal where I reflect about your posting.
Thank you for your inspiration,
Warm regards,
Sarah
PS I am now reflecting on Tim's posting; what might it mean to be impartial?
Is it possible to be impartial as a tutor assessing a student's work? How is
stating criteria by a student assisting the tutor towards more impartiality?
Is being impartial necessarily linked to increasing validity in assessment?
(Have you seen the latest issue of Educational Researcher - re. 'validity'?)
Is my emerging on-line living educational theory any less 'valid' for being
'emerging' than a paper based version that I complete before a conference?
