Dear Sarah,
I have looked into train times and could not manage to get to the Conference until midday and therefore as it would entail cancelling two other engagements and cost me about £175, I think I shall regretfully have to miss the day. I'll forward a draft version of my paper in time for the event, though - to reach you by Friday.
I am sorry not to be able to attend,
Peter

Subject: It's the 5th April!
Dear All
Our final meeting for our SIG this academic year is 5th April at Bailbrook
House in Bath. Thank you to everyone who has written to me on (and off) a
list about the event. We are opting for 5th April as more people can attend.
Perhaps I should have advertised the event very differently! 'Instead of the
normal price of £75 per head plus overnight accommodation in the region of
£200 BERA is making it possible for our SIG to come together to discuss
mentoring, coaching and plan our publication for under £100 per person!' We
agreed to organise a conference for Spring 2008 at our SIG meeting at BERA
Annual Conference 2007. Despite Rosalind's best efforts to connect with our
colleagues at Sheffield Halam our SIG was unable to arrange a collaborative
conference there for this year. It's a treat I hope we'll manage in future.
I am aware that many us of will be taking a vacation in early April but this
conference depends not on me for its success but on us... on all of us... If
you'd like to come on 5th there are a few more BERA funded places available.
Please make every effort to join us on 5th. We all appreciate your support.
Warm regards,
Sarah
