Good-O.
then she's quite Typically Qualified to have a strong opinion on the Turin
Artifact.
Chevalier might have been the last actual medievalist to have worked on the
thing at all.
even my guy, Drews, was "only" an Ancient historian (though a pretty damned
good one):
THE GREEK ACCOUNTS OF EASTERN HISTORY. Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University
Press, for the Center for Hellenic Studies, 1973
BASILEUS. THE EVIDENCE FOR KINGSHIP IN GEOMETRIC GREECE. New Haven: Yale
University Press, 1983
IN SEARCH OF THE SHROUD OF TURIN: NEW LIGHT ON ITS HISTORY AND ORIGINS.
Totowa, N. J.: Rowman and Allanheld, 1984.
THE COMING OF THE GREEKS: INDO-EUROPEAN CONQUESTS IN THE AEGEAN AND THE NEAR
EAST. Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1988.
THE END OF THE BRONZE AGE: CHANGES IN WARFARE AND THE CATASTROPHE CA. 1200

curiously enough (or not), to the best of my knowledge, *no* Art Hysterian
(middlevil or otherwise) has weighed in on the "proof" that it is a 14th c.
French painting from the point of view of his/her own discipline. (McCrone's
Art Hysterical opining doesn't count, since he was only a microcopist and
*way* out of his depth, talking about that Artsy Stuff.)
