medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
My thoughts exactly, which is why I'm ever curious about the thing and fascinated by legitimate scholarship and science on the matter.
Would that the shrill nonsense that explodes every time the shroud comes up could be eliminated/silenced in favor of calmer minds. This is one of those
things that it seems almost impossible to find the rational, analytical center amidst the chicanery both pro and con.
Many thanks for your insights and thoughts. Much intrique here, and like you say, so much that was "going on" is lost . . . but that's also what makes the
mystery fun!
