The organisers of Sounding Out 4, the international symposium on sound
in the media, hosted by the Centre of Research in Media & Cultural
Studies at the University of Sunderland in the UK, are extending the
deadline for the Call for Papers to Wednesday 23 April.
Papers on sound and music in the media are invited from a range of
perspectives, from theorists, historians and practitioners. Particular
areas of interest include issues of history and memory in film,
television and radio. Issues of the voice, sound and the body, new
media technologies and convergence are also sought to complement the
existing range of keynote presentations. Audio and audio-visual works
are also to be included as part of the programme.
If you would like to submit a 20 minute paper or have your work
included in the programme, you can email me directly.
