Mae cyfle wedi codi yn Ymddiriedolaeth Archeolegol Gwynedd i benodi
Archeolegydd Cofnod Amgylchedd Hanesyddol Cynorthwyol. Wedi’i lleoli yn
swyddfeydd yr Ymddiriedolaeth ym Mangor, bydd deiliad y swydd newydd hon yn
cynorthwyo’r Archeolegydd Cofnod Amgylchedd Hanesyddol a’r Archeolegydd
Rheoli Datblygu.
Mae’r Cofnod Amgylchedd Hanesyddol (CAH) yn cael ei ddatblygu ar hyn o bryd
fel adnodd ar-lein a rhagwelir y bydd y swydd newydd yn cyfrannu at y system
ddynamig newydd hon yn bennaf. Bydd y tasgau’n cynnwys cyfrannu at gynnal a
datblygu’r CAH, yn ogystal ag ateb ymholiadau o amrywiaeth o ffynonellau.
Bydd y dyletswyddau o fewn Rheoli Datblygu yn cynnwys gwirio rhestrau
awdurdodau lleol o geisiadau cynllunio a gweithio gyda’r Archeolegydd Rheoli
Datblygu i amddiffyn yr amgylchedd hanesyddol trwy’r broses gynllunio.
Mae’n bosibl y bydd cyfleoedd yn codi i gynorthwyo mewn agweddau eraill ar
waith yr Ymddiriedolaeth.
Bydd gan yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus radd mewn archeoleg neu bwnc cysylltiedig
a bydd ganddo ef/hi ddealltwriaeth o egwyddorion a dulliau archeoleg
guradurol. Mae bod yn gyfarwydd â chronfeydd data ar gyfrifiaduron a
systemau gwybodaeth ddaearyddol hefyd yn hanfodol ar gyfer y swydd.

Term of appointment: One year fixed-term contract
An opportunity has arisen at the Gwynedd Archaeological Trust for an
Assistant Historic Environment Record Archaeologist. Based in the Trust’s
offices in Bangor, this newly-created post will support the roles of the
Historic Environment Record Archaeologist and the Development Control
Archaeologist.
The Historic Environment Record (HER) is currently being developed into an
online resource and it is envisaged that the new post will primarily
contribute to this dynamic new system. Tasks will include contributing to
the maintenance and enhancement of the HER, as well as answering enquiries
from a range of sources.
Duties within Development Control will involve checking the local
authorities’ lists of planning applications and working with the Development
Control Archaeologist to protect the historic environment through the
planning process.
Opportunities to assist in other areas of the Trust’s work may also be
available.
The successful applicant will have a degree in archaeology or a related
subject and will have an understanding of the principles and methods of
curatorial archaeology. Familiarity with computerised databases and
geographical information systems are also essential for this post.
The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is highly desirable.
