Yes - we have the same situation but in general it works reasonably
well. I control the budget/payments but the admin and responsibility
are carried by the curriculum area itself. This is understood and given
the ever expanding volume of on-line tests is not too much of a problem.
Ensuring compliance to exams standards is more difficult to ensure but
prior knowledge of test dates gives us a spot check option.

Subject: IMI Motor Vehicle Technology
Is anyone out there using IMI for Motor Vehicle Technology, if so what
role if any do exams play in the admin and invigilation of the online
tests. The Head of that Department keeps running tests without
involving the exams department and I am getting increasingly annoyed
especially as he will no doubt want me to pick up the pieces when
something goes wrong.
