Hello everyone
I am currently writing my literature review section for my final MA
project which has looked to provide a qualitative exploratory study of 16
UK “good practice” and “key stakeholder” organisations’ experiences of
employing disabled graduates with Cerebral Palsy and Asperger’s Syndrome.
The reason I am writing to the forum is that I am wanting to write my
literature section from a crital pespective about what is really happening
in regards the employment situation of disabled people in the employment
context. You read articles saying that the postion of disabled people is
improving but I am really intersted in providing a critical pespective
into my project. There is still one million disabled people who want to
work but are not, discrmination is still a problem over 10 years since the
DDA, for example.
I would be very intersted in some current research materials that look at
the issue of employment and policy about what is actually happening
instead of all the retoric that I have read to date. I have looked in
Disability and Society, read the very good book Working Futures by Colin
Barnes for example.
Is there any other journals that I could look at or any other disability
and employment current materials that anyone could kindly recommend. It
has been very hard to find reasech on CP/AS from a employment pespective
also.
Kind regards
Huseyin MA student
