Access, Excel & GIS Data Processor/Analyst
Temporary - Min 3 months with pos extension
London – £20 PH


Work in a small team to generate, process and analyse large datasets and 
statistics using Access and Excel (VBA coding), PowerPoint packages. 
Additionally use SPSS and GIS (ESRI) packages.

Main duties of the post:

•	Aggregate, clean and validate data from external data source to 
differing geographic levels, matching to template, checking, and loading 
into SQL Server database.
•	Analyse and present data on Excel, using VBA to automate the 
process.
•	Provide regular updates on specific geographic locations and 
national indicators using this data to government Ministers, senior civil 
servants and policy colleagues.
•	Work with other Government Departments and agencies for outstanding 
datasets to monitor national government indicators.
•	Maintain website metadata systems and standard materials, working 
in a team to provide up-to-date information and data for presentations, 
briefings and seminars. 

With at least 2 years experience of working within Government (central or 
local) data/statistics, a performance analyst with a statistical 
background, you must have the following:

•	Experience of working with large datasets and processing data
•	Experience of providing presentation material under tight deadlines
•	Good analytical and data presentational skills;
•	Ability to work closely with other Team members
•	Ability to multi-task under pressure;
•	Good written and oral communications skills.
•	Working knowledge of formulae in Access and Excel (VBA coding), 
PowerPoint and creative use of Excel in presenting data in charts and 
graphs;
•	Working and user knowledge of SPSS and GIS (ESRI) packages
•	Working and user knowledge of SQL 2000 server and Access 2002 XP3
•	VBA experience in automating MS Office applications, specifically 
Access and Excel.
