Dear All
We are experiencing some problems with the e-portfolio tool in the Content
System. I have outlined these below and would be interested to know if
anyone else has experienced the same problem and if so, know of any fix.
We believe this has only happened after installing our last patch. We are
currently on 7.3.159.7
1. Our first problem is that the "Share with external users feature" has
ceased to work. If you send an email to an external user they will get an
"access denied" error when they click on the Portfolio link. When we
enabled Persistent Cookies this fixed this problem although in the last few
weeks it has stopped working even though Persistent Cookies is still
enabled.
2. Additionally, we are experiencing another problem, possibly linked or a
completely separate issue. We have found that if you want to view someone
else's portfolio that they have shared with you then not all of the content
of the porfolio is available e.g. the menu items down the left hand side
appear but as plain text and not a hyperlink. If the owner of that
portfolio logs in then those links are clickable and the content appears
without any problem. Before this started to happen simply sharing a
portfolio with a user or group of users, would enable them to see your
entire portfolio unless certain items were made unavailable during the
setup of the eportfolio.
We believe we have narrowed the problem down by finding that every folder
which contains an item included in a portfolio needs to be shared with the
appropriate users. If you haven't added any sub folders into your My
Content area and have just added your item directly into your user folder
than your user folder needs to be shareable to all those who need to view
your portfolio. This never used to be the case as simply sharing the
portfolio would allow those users to view all content in the portfolio
without you having to do any additional steps.
To confuse things further, this isn’t always the case. I have seen some
cases where portfolios work fully without the need for the folder above to
be shareable.
Any thoughts gratefully received
Many thanks
