Doctoral studentships in Stochastic Optimisation
Applications are invited for doctoral studentships to undertake research in stochastic optimisation, focussing in particular on the development of new approaches to dynamic resource allocation. Application areas include the control of queueing systems and inventory management. The work will be under the supervision of Professor Kevin Glazebrook who leads a major research effort in the area which spans both the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Lancaster's 6*-rated Management School. EPSRC studentships of 3.5 years duration are available to those who fulfil the research councils' residency conditions. They come with an annual stipend which is £2,000 above the usual research council rates.
