BACKGROUND:
We are currently looking for new recruits for our statistics groups at
Colworth and Port Sunlight. Both groups provide statistical consultancy
across the range of exciting scientific research at each laboratory,
working closely in project teams with scientists. Port Sunlight is
Unilever's principal Home and Personal Care research & development
centre specialising in technology discovery and product development.
Colworth is Unilever's centre for cross-category research, specialising
in health and ageing, and also housing Unilever's ice cream and drinks
research centres.
JOB DETAILS:
The people we are looking for will be able to manage the statistical
content of projects, deciding on appropriate design and analysis
approaches, performing the analyses and presenting and reporting the
results. Methodology development and improvement is also an
important part of our role, as we are committed to expanding the
statistical capabilities of our group.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated people with excellent
communication skills. You should have a post-graduate qualification (or
equivalent) in Statistics with further experience in industrial
statistics. For the Colworth position, areas such as clinical/human
studies, epidemiology or Bayesian analysis techniques would be a
benefit. Whilst for the Port Sunlight position, in addition to the above
areas we are seeking experience in time series and spatial analysis,
multivariate analysis or signal processing. Good IT skills are essential
as is experience with a major maths or statistics package such as SAS or
S-plus.
