apologies for my second query in two days!
like a previous correspondant, i've never really got autoastrom to work,
but i'm having another 'stab' at it. i downloaded a 2mass image with
embedded wcs info and autoastrom seemed to run correctly using the
2mass@cds catalogue.
for 'real' data, i've got eso wfi and int wfc data and both have
similar problems.
the error i get is (where i converted the fits file to sdf via convert
beforehand):
[gar@arpc59 autoastrom]$ autoastrom test_gav -catalogue='2mass@cds'
--obsdata=ra=17:59:00,dec=+01:38:00
--I autoastrom, v0.6-0
--I Running AUTOASTROM on test_gav.
--I Using WCS information from USER-supplied coordinates.

now this is very odd since i removed most of the keywords from the fits
file (i also get the error on the full 'raw' image as well) so i'm not
sure how autoastrom gets this crpix2 parameter! i've tried
to remove a file in the ~/adam area but there is no relevant file there.
could it be picking this up from another file?
to help, i've put the test file (a int wfc image from chip4) in
www.arm.ac.uk/~gar/test_gav.fits
any help is appreciated,
gav
