Job title: Information Governance Compliance Manager
Location: Halifax, Leeds or Edinburgh; travel to other locations as
necessary.
Reports to: Head of Information Management Governance
Salary guide: £40,902 - £57, 744, dependent on experience and
qualifications
Job purpose: to further the development of a world class Information
Management Governance framework for HBOS group in the UK and overseas and
facilitate business unit compliance with its requirements by providing
professional advice and consultancy services.
The scope of this role includes but is not limited to: -
- strategic and tactical analysis of changing regulatory and statutory
developments and trends relevant to the management of information in HBOS
group in the UK and overseas
- key role in developing the information governance framework and
influencing senior stakeholders in moving HBOS global operations towards
best in class status in this field
- developing collaborative partnerships with information professionals in
the financial and other sectors both at a national and international level
to keep HBOS group at the forefront of best practice and to represent the
group's views to regulators and law-makers
- developing and communicating policy, strategy and tactical solutions in
consultation with HBOS’ risk management, legal and information technology
communities
- identifying operational risk exposures and advising on controls.
Knowledge/experience/skills needed
A professional with several years in a Compliance, Audit, or other Risk
Management function in the financial services sector; preferably in a
large enterprise.
Thorough understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework in
which the sector operates, from a strategic overview to the more detailed
provisions. This includes advanced knowledge of FSA regulations and the EC
legislative environment as well as overseas trends.
Sound understanding of operational risk concepts and methods, including
policy development, implementation and compliance monitoring.
Proven enterprise-wide relationship management, influencing and
communication skills; ability to collaborate at all levels in a large
organisation.
Track record of resolving competing business interests to deliver mutually
acceptable outcomes.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications: Graduate level, ideally Law or Accountancy.
