Dear Sue,
In Holland it is common practice to start syntocinon twelve hours after ARM.
I don't know the number of caesarean sections for "failure to progress".
Kind regards

Dear All,
At the moment it is current practice in our unit to wait two hours following ARM before commencing syntocinon. It is being suggested that if syntocinon is commenced straight away, this would reduce the number of caesarean sections. However, it also thought that there would be no difference in outcome, just the labour would be shorter! Have you any thoughts on this?
Kind regards
