FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Partnership between the South African Institute of International
Affairs (SAIIA) and Routledge Journals
In 2008, Routledge has become the publisher of the South African Journal
of International Affairs (SAJIA). Published since 1993, the SAJIA is a
leading South African journal providing a vibrant interdisciplinary forum
for debate on all foreign policy issues affecting Africa in general or
South Africa in particular.
Adding to the Routledge agreement with the University of South Africa
(UNISA) Press concluded in 2006, this new partnership expands and
strengthens the Routledge commitment to publishing South African based
journals.
Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, National Director of SAIIA and Editor-in-Chief,
commented: “The South African Institute of International Affairs is
thrilled to be partnering with Routledge in the publication of the South
African Journal of International Affairs. We are confident this
partnership will continue to ensure the publication of quality research in
the journal, especially from among African scholars, and offer a host of
benefits to both our readers and committed contributors.”
Dr. David Green, Global Publishing Director of Routledge Journals,
said: “It is a privilege for Routledge Journals to be awarded the
publishing contract for such a prestigious Institute. This partnership
further reinforces Routledge’s position as a key international publisher
of South African research and demonstrates our commitment to publishing in
this area. The partnership will enable the Institute to extend the global
reach of its flagship publication.”

About the South African Institute of International Affairs
The SAIIA is an independent, non-governmental organisation which aims to
promote a wider and more informed understanding of international issues
among South Africans. It seeks also to educate, inform and facilitate
contact among people concerned with South Africa’s place in the world, and
to contribute to the public debate on foreign policy. Since 1994 SAIIA has
supported democratic South Africa in dealing with its rapidly expanding

will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding.
