The UHMLG Spring Forum is an annual event that brings together health and
medical librarians and information professionals from the NHS, Higher
Education and related sectors to discuss topics of mutual interest and to
share experiences and examples of effective collaboration and best practice.
The day will build on the success of the past UMSLG Open Fora.
The programme will bring together a range of speakers with an opportunity
for formal questions and informal networking during the day. Please use the
form below to let us know in advance of any questions you would like to ask
the speakers. There will be opportunities at the Spring Forum to contribute
your views on aspects of work you think the UHMLG committee should schedule
for 2008.
Confirmed speakers include the following:
+ Professor Peter Hill - on implementing the recommendations of the recent
Report of the Review of NHS Health Library Services in England
+ Colin Davies and Tricia Ellis - on the forthcoming National Service
Framework standards
+ Malcolm Teague - on the NHS-HE Forum work on connectivity and access
+ Kath O'Donovan - on the work of the SCONUL / CILIP Health Strategy Group
+ Professor Elisabeth Paice - on developments in postgraduate medical /
multiprofessional education
+ Donald Mackay - on developing a joint knowledge service environment
+ Dr Douglas Grindlay - on identifying uncertainties about the effects of
treatments: DUETs and NLH Specialist Libraries
+ Robert Kiley - on UK PubMedCentral and developments with open access
The programme will start with registration and coffee at 10:00, with the
first speaker scheduled for 10:30, and will finish by 16:30. Projected
