italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Thanks for forwarding this George. However, although the form that the REF will take for the Arts and Humanities is still quite unclear, the most recent HEFCE discussion document that I've seen (dated, I think, November 2007) was very clear on the fact that HEFCE did NOT expect bibliometric indicators (that is to say, numbers of citations based on existing databases) to form part of the assessment criteria for the Arts and Humanities.

italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear italian-studies colleagues,
This is primarily addressed to those of us based in the United Kingdom, and whose publications (and more) are effected under the shadow of the government's Research Assessment Exercise.
I have just read a message posted to a mailing list similar to ours but dedicated to scholars working in French (as I do, a tiny tiny bit), and I thought that the information presented here might be of interest to you.
All good wishes,
George
