I was told that the OOH regulations mean that we would not be *allowed* to
do phones, visits, emergencies etc. even if we were fool enough to want to.
Something to do with recording phone calls and response times and this and
that...
All those regulations that made it increasingly difficult for GP co-ops to
compete with the pvt providers.
Is this true?

Wrong!
You must not offer emergency services, you cannot offer visits, both are not
in your contract, they ate provided by an OOH provider.
Pre booked appointments only, everyone else will have to go to the OOH
provider

One thing that has not been emphasised amongst all of this business about
extended hours is the fact that we are expected to offer 'normal services' -
i.e. dealing with visits, drop-ins, telephone queries and emergencise. I may
be good at multi-tasking, but juggling all of this with pre-booked late
bookings is impossible.
