I am pleased to announce that this year’s British Geophysical Association
annual Postgraduate Research In Progress Meeting will be hosted at Durham
University on September 1-2. The meeting, which is intended primarily as an
opportunity for PhD students to present and share their work, will also
include a repeat of the annual Bullerwell Lecture by Tavi Murray
(http://Ralph.swan.ac.uk/glaciology/people/tmurray) on "Beneath the Ice:
Geophysical Observations at Rutford Ice Stream, West Antarctica", and a
guest lecture by Lars Stixrude
(http://www.es.ucla.ac.uk/people/Stixrude.html) on "From minerals to
mantles: The planetary mosaic". Further details of the meeting including
registration and abstract submission will be available shortly. Meanwhile,
please direct any queries to Chris Mallows ([log in to unmask]).
