Engaging disabled people – with us, each other and the wider world - meeting
the challenge of the DES – St Johns College Cambridge 29th April 2008
The University of Cambridge Disability Resource Centre is holding a day long
workshop aimed at rejuvenating and inspiring higher education providers to
work effectively with disabled people in terms of getting feedback and
providing or supporting peer support activities. As part of this workshop
interested parties are invited to contribute presentations on successes,
challenges and ideas on best practice in engaging disabled people in the
aforementioned areas. To be considered, please write a proposal and send it
to Kirsty Wayland [log in to unmask] for consideration by 7th March 2008.
Proposals for 20 minute presentations are invited in the following areas;
• Disabled staff – feedback/involvement
• Disabled students – feedback/involvement
• Successful support groups
Those presenting will also be asked to participate in a question panel and
are welcome to stay for the rest of the day. An honorarium will be payable.
