Your reworking of some earlier emails from me is totally acceptable and it may appear that my convoluted ranting seems akin to crawling, I say this with a good heart as one might say, honest, however there are them wot already run in places such as designers seem never to look much at all - examples herewith:
Anderson J A, 1996, Communication Theory, New York, The Guilford Press
Schrag C O, Communicative Praxis and the Space of Subjectivity, Indiana, Indiana Press, 1986

Bill,
In your reply to Ida (Wed, 27 Feb 2008 13:01:04 +0100), you added:

I still feel, Per, that the emphasis of any work on aesthetics soon shifts to questions about identity and thus on to questions of difference and our ability to achieve it as individuals and thus an existential question that requires more than simple associations with form (which is about where most psychology seems to settle at present) and of course allows simple and naive visual image claims for knowledge sets (which equally of course exist)

Well, perhaps a pragmatic approach would be to start with psychological results on the "simple associations with form", and then gradually extend one's scope of interest, so as to include, say, identity and perhaps extistential questions as you suggest. The point being, let's crawl before we attempt to walk, let alone attempting to run or jump.
