One-year MPhil (Master of Philosophy) in Epidemiology Course 2008-2009
We are seeking applications from eligible students (the MRC and CRUK
operate eligibility criteria) with, or anticipating, a first degree (2:1
or higher) and who wish to undertake a one-year MPhil in Epidemiology
starting in October 2008.
This Master's degree provides formal training in epidemiology. It
comprises a taught component followed by a research project.
Applications from students who wish to continue to a PhD in
Epidemiology, Public Health or Biostatistics are particularly welcome.
The Department's research programmes focus on major chronic diseases
including coronary heart disease, cancer, dementia, diabetes,
neuropsychiatric disorders and obesity.
Three MRC-funded Studentships are available and for students who wish to
pursue a career in cancer research, two CR-UK Studentships are
available. There are also opportunities to apply for other studentships
and bursaries.
