A postdoctoral research position is available in the School of Computer
Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin. The position is available
immediately and is funded until 30th June 2009. The contract may be extended
beyond that date on successful application for an extension of funding that
is currently in progress.
The position is funded under the Centre for Telecommunications Value-Chain
Research http://www.ctvr.ie, a collaboration between several Irish
universities and industrial companies. The candidate will be expected to
work in the area of statistical tools for dynamic spectrum use in wireless
devices. This will include spatio-temporal stochastic process modelling,
inference via MCMC or other computationally methods, and decision-making
under uncertainty. There will be close collaboration with the School of
Engineering in TCD. The work offers opportunities for both applied and
methodological statistics research.
