Afternoon all,
Just a heads up to people running SL4 worker nodes - glite 3.1
requires several packages from the Jpackage project, so some of
us have enabled their main repository our nodes.
The jpackage project have released a new version of their
jpackage-utils rpm that contains a bug in an rpm macros file that
causes all executions of rpm to exit with an error code (while
still actually functioning). This causes the SAM test for CA
certificate rpms to fail with a critical error.
The affected version of the package is 1.7.4-1jpp, and details of
the bug are here:
https://www.jpackage.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=293
I'd suggest anyone using the jpackage repository on their SL4 worker
nodes hold off doing this upgrade until a fix is out.
On a side note am I the only one that thinks the SAM tests even trying
to run rpm is a bug in itself - you're supposed to be able to run a
worker node without installing anything with RPM.
