I'm interested to see a new Sage subscription option which seems to run
as follows:

 

Internet access free with print for two year backfile, rolling each
year.

 

Swets describe this on their system:

 

As of 2008 SAGE offers yet another option: free online access with a
print subscription, which gives access to 2008 and 2007 content. In 2009
it will give access to 2009 and 2008 content but not to 2007 anymore.
The other options are: print and online ( access to 1999), print and
online with backfiles( access as of volume one), print only, online
only, online with backfile.

 

While I applaud any publisher schemes to extend online access, my
question I suppose is this - if institutions are not prepared to part
with the small extra premium needed for print and online, why would they
be interested in this new option to have some content?  It is an
interesting idea but one I have to note with a bit of amusement really!
