Role: SPSS IRELAND SERVICES CONSULTANT

Reporting to: SPSS Services Manager

Location: Dublin 8, Ireland



Due to the growth of SPSS Ireland we are looking for a young professional to join our team of Services Consultants. She or he will be responsible for delivering statistical analysis for customers in banking, telecommunications, education, government and non-profit organizations. Moreover, the candidate will become the Database authority in the organization. This is a key role in helping our growing Services team with the expansion of their overall services business. 



We enable business leaders to integrate information from different silos, track and analyze key performance metrics and deploy predictive analytics key business strategies. This requires identifying and understanding key business issues, strong analytical thinking and the ability to set up the IT infrastructure needed to conduct quantitative analysis and develop conclusions based on analysis.



Reporting to the Services Manager, the Consultant will provide database and reporting solutions for business decision support and will work closely with management in top-tier organizations to help grow and develop their businesses.



Main Responsibilities:

• Consulting requirements:

o Design, manage and implement diverse and complex solutions using Microsoft SQL databases and reporting systems for our customers

o Develop expertise in data analysis and manipulation techniques to run challenging projects in data mining and predictive analytics

o Translate technical solutions for non-technical audience

• Technical Support: provide remote support to SPSS Ireland customers

• IT leadership, internally and externally: become the IT expert and liaise with Consultants and Account Managers in order to deliver demos, workshops, responses to RFPs and tenders

• Management Information Systems: responsible for the continuous improvement of internal information systems

• Research & Development: screen business opportunities and prepare business cases for new product/service lines



Qualifications:

Degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics or other highly numerate degree. Masters preferable. Background in business intelligence, project management an asset.

• Knowledge and experience (ideally more than 2 years) in Microsoft SQL database design/creation (to retrieve information from different silos) and reporting to monitor KPIs

• Administration of MS SQL Server, including logins, security, backup/restore and DTS functions

• Data modeling / tuning / triggers. MS SQL Reporting Services. Experience in Java development and HTML (a plus)

• Ability to create and interpret statistical models

• Experience in the delivery of technology projects as a Consultant (a plus), with the ability to plan and handle a number of projects simultaneously

• Well-motivated self-starter, with flexibility to work on own initiative and as part of a team

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills (a presentation to SPSS staff is part of the recruitment process), ability to communicate business benefits to customers

• Excellent inter-personal, organizational and time-management skills

• Enthusiastic, hard-working and willing to learn



Salary: in the range €30K-€50K depending on previous experience
