Dear Colleague

There is still time to book on the following workshops that Netskills are delivering at the West of Scotland Science Park, Glasgow in January, book now and pay only 123 per workshop!

1. Mobile Learning: Education on Demand, 30th January
-----------------------------------------------------
M-Learning can free learners from the classroom and enable them to study wherever and whenever they choose. Organisations can adapt academic and administrative functions to suit the demands of their new audience: the mobile learner, already comfortable with smart phones, hand-held media devices and Personal Digital Assistants. However, what issues arise from such technologies? How suitable are they pedagogically and practically?

This workshop explores the principles and practice of m-Learning. It is for anyone who is interested in using mobile devices in education, or whose organisations already are, or those who simply wish to know more about the emerging technologies.

Topics covered during this workshop include:
Issues, uses and implications of m-Learning for learners, practitioners and institutions
Overview of devices and technologies
Examination of m-Learning case studies
Mobile content and communication
Current and future trends in mobile device usage

2. Assessment Solutions for e-Learning, 31st January
-----------------------------------------------------
Assessment, when used well, has long been recognised as a key element of developing effective learning. The rise in recent years of online assessment has brought a range of assessment tools and techniques into general use. While they provide an important framework to facilitate the delivery of online assessment, questions remain regarding the effective design and development of pedagogically fit online assessment.

Topics covered during this workshop include:
Traditional assessment methods and techniques
Pedagogic fitness of assessment methods and techniques
Levels of learning linked to assessment
Goal analysis and learning objectives in assessment design
The role of feedback in developing successful learning
Planning online assessment
Assessment blueprints to drive focused assessment
Linking online assessment to traditional assessment
Types of online assessment and potential for learning
Designing effective online assessment to aid learning
