The Standing Conference Committee are proud to announce the PsyPAG's 23rd
annual conference to be held at the University of Manchester from the 30th
July to the 1st August 2008.
The conference brings together postgraduate psychologists in an
environment where they can cultivate their skills by networking,
dicsussing ideas and presenting their research in either poster or oral
presentation format. The conference is also novel in that it is not
essential that presentations are of research findings; in the past,
delegates have found it useful to present a a summary of their literature
review, or of research or an approaches that has been planned or begun.
Such presentations can generate feedback and ideas that can be highly
valuable at the crucial early stages of research. First and foremost the
objective of this event is to provide a supportive environment in which
postgraudates can gain the experiences needed to excel but without the
normal pressures of conferences.
PsyPAG (Postgraduate Affairs Group) has been holding an annual conference
for postgraduate researchers for over 20 years and they are always well
attended events. This year we intend to build on previous success and
provide the biggest and best yet. As well as poster presentations and
themed symposium, proceedings will include skills workshops and highly
prestigious key note speakers …not to mention optional conference dinner
and free wine reception!
We are now welcoming abstract submissions for poster and oral
presentations (closing date: 30th May 2008) from postgraduates at all
levels of study (MSc to final year PhD), and all areas of Psychology.
Precise guidelines for abstract submission will be available soon via the
PsyPAG website (www.psypag.co.uk). In the meantime, all enquiries should
be sent to [log in to unmask]
We are also wishing to hear from Postgraduates who would be interested in
organising a themed symposium with a focus on a psychological topic of
their choice. Each symposia will last 90 minutes, giving enough time for
three to four speakers, and possibly a discussion to close. However, we
would welcome alternative ideas for the format. Please contact us at
[log in to unmask] to discuss your proposed topic/theme,
and we will be more than happy to give you the information you need and
get you involved.
Further information regarding the programme and registration will also be
available via the PsyPAG website in the not too distant future.
We look forward to hearing from and seeing you.
Best wishes
The PsyPAG Conference Team
