Hi *,
Questions:
1) Are there glite-MON + dep. packages for x86_64 architecture, or I have to
use 32bit? (according to rpm list file for glite-MON, some packages are
platform dependent - see Symptoms and problems section below)
2) If I'm using SLC4 for x86_64 and I want to use glite3.0 (and therefore
SLC3) repositories, will I have conflict 64/32bit architecture conflicts ?
3) I'm stupid: How should I use apt to obey SLC3.0 && glite3.0
dependencies without violating SLC4.0 packages dependencies? (According to
glite3.0 installation guide, section 'Introduction to Manual Installation
and Configuration', packages which can be installed under SLC4
without problems are WN and UI only)
4) If answer to 3) is "no there is no way to use apt/yum or any other
authomatic installer, you must dig web for rpms" and answer for 2) is "yes",
where can I find appropriate x86_64 packages ? (google?)
5) In case rebuild of glite-MON under x86_64 from scratch would be the
easyier way to solve the installation problem, where can I find sources ?
==================================================================================
Symptoms and problem:
in glite3.1 installation guide (http://glite.web.cern.ch/glite/packages/R3.1/)
is written:
"Different node-types (ie. services) will be introduced progressively to
this release on SL4. If they are not yet available, you should use the gLite
3.0 release series on SL3."
Problems:
1) using apt (which is recommended installation tool for glite3.0 leads to
dependency problem)
2) Some packages from glite-MON package list :
(http://glite.web.cern.ch/glite/packages/R3.0/deployment/glite-MON/3.0.23-0/glite-MON-3.0.23-0.rpm.list.txt)
