Thanks to Phil Green (Computer Science, U of Sheffield)for the following
information. You may want to follow this up
the company concerned is VoiceSignal (www.voicesignal.com), who are market
leaders in what they call 'embedded ASR' ie ASR on phones. They say
Currently VoiceMode 2.0 is available on the Nokia website for Nokia
S60v3 phones
(http://www.softwaremarket.nokia.com/?action=productDetails&pID=3025&pms
id=241&lang=en).
They say 'this is the only mobile dictation application for British English
available right now' .. i.e. trained on UK English. There's more options for
US English of course & they may work well enough.

Hello there!
Just an idea, but have you considered using Dragon Naturally Speaking in
conjunction with a product such as Jeyo Mobile Extender?
Jeyo Mobile Extender allows you to type SMS through Outlook, and then sends
them through your connected mobile phone.
Personally, i find this invaluable for contacting large blocks of clients!
As I say, just an idea!

Subject: Mobile Voice Activated Phone
Hi,
I have a high spinal patient interested in a complete voice control for a
mobile phone. Does someone have experience with these and know of any that
work well. I think creating SMS would be ideal too. I have suggested that
the V620 on an SRS Intellec is still possible as Possum still have a few of
these kicking about.
Thanks,
Neil Gregory
