Hello all
My institution is doing lots of work on estates provision and a new
build/conversion or other changes are looking likely. I've been asked for
projected square metre requirements for Special Collections.
I have plenty of recommendations for nature and contents of Special
Collections storage, reader and office space, but I've not been able to
track down guidelines on sizing archive spaces e.g. recommendations for how
many square metres should be allowed for numbers of reader places, staff,
linear metres of archives ...
Has anyone produced such guidelines, or does anyone have their own ways of
doing this? I would really appreciate any guidance anyone can offer and of
course will summarise summarise results for the list.
Thanks very much for your help!
All the best
Alison
