I am hoping someone on this list can help me with this problem. I have tried the
ccp4bb and ccp4 itself and recieved no useful answers.
A week ago I my Red Hat (2.6.9-42.ELsmp) machine was running coot-0.3.2 and ccp4
5.99.5. I had set up my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file for hardware stereo and stereo
option worked fine. Then I upgraded to ccp4 6.02, which appeared to work fine,
but when I tried to use coot in stereo mode it gave the message:
CATASTROPHIC ERROR:: in gl_extras no GtkGL widget!
WARNING:: switch to hardware_stereo_mode failed
I started from scratch with a new installation of ccp4-6.0.2 along with
TklTk/Blt, Phaser and Python from the CCP4 automatic downloads site.
CCP4 is working fine but my Coot stereo is still broken. When I start Coot it
give the following error messages:
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate loadable module in module_path: " s o",
later it says:
Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
WARNING python directory /home/coot/autobuild/coot/share/coot/python does not ex
ist
When I try to start the stereo option I still get the same message as before:
CATASTROPHIC ERROR:: in gl_extras no GtkGL widget!
WARNING:: switch to hardware_stereo_mode failed
Interestingly, pymol hardware stereo is not working either anymore. The
side-by-side stereo works but the Quad-Buffered stereo option is not working.
Only a single image is displayed and my emitter stays off, but there is no
error message from pymol.
