Dear All,
I would like some opinions/advice on health checks for staff carrying
patients in their vehicles, and those that drive goods vehicles, as the NHS
Trust I work for are asking for advice for their road risk policy.
1. Would I be correct in saying that those in PCV's (whether a car or
minibus) should have an initial screen (eyetest, BP, urinalysis etc), and
then 5 yearly after age45, then yearly after age65?
2. and would you ask those to fill in a standard health questionnaire or do
you think the trust should have a specific risk assessment form just for
PCV drivers?
3. Does anyone ask their employees to fill in a driving risk assessment
form in addition to a PEHQ even if they are just travelling during their
working day - with or without passengers?
4. Do we need to screen staff driving goods vehicles that aren't Grp 2
category at all?
5. would anyone be willing to share any policies that they have for these
purposes?
I know it's a long query - look forward to your responses!
Thank you,
Lesley
