A part of a district localized in the Vosges area (France), not very far from Belfort recently decided to destroy some very interesting remains of the industrial period. It concerns an old manufactory with a lot of forging machines (XIX-XX th).
This manufactory produced quite a lot of garden tools during some many years.
The mayor of district would like to destroy and to sell them (as metal) in a very few time...
because he can't keep up the whole building any more (!?);
Georges, (You remember ...my friend in charge of the archive departement) asked him if it could be possible for some interested museum to get some of these machines....
A this time, we don't know any museum interested to take some of these machineries in France.
What about UK museums ?
It is possible to see the whole machines on this website :
http://www.culture.gouv.fr/culture/inventai/patrimoine/ then choose « accès géographique » then "Corravillers" into the district listing
