Dear all
I am seeking advice from you following an early decision at UCLan that our free-standing department of studies will be amalgamated into a school of nursing and midwifery. We have a brief period when this is open to consultation, and we are currently putting together a response. If you can spare the time to send some responses to the following questions, so we can talk about our preferred option in the light of the national picture, I would really appreciate it:
1. Are you a part of a nursing school/department?
2. If not, what other disciplinary grouping, if any, are you in?
3. Does the organisational set up you are in work for midwifery:
Education?
Research?
4. If your organisational set up works well, do you have any vies on what has enabled this to happen, for education and/or research?
...Education
....Research
5. if there have been problems in terms of maintaining and growing successful midwifery education and/or research in your organisational setting, could you say briefly what these have been?
...Education
....Research
6. In your view, what would we need to do to maintain the identify of midwifery in an amalgamated department?
...Education
....Research
VERY many thanks for your help with this.
Best wishes
Soo
