"I am a front line user of the PAS and am bemused that Mr Clare is obviously
taking advice from a vociferous group of anti-PAS supporters playing silly
playground games with a national treasure"
It is "obvious" is it?
Mr Clare may be surprised to hear that view of himself. We have never
offered him advice and have merely suggested he should be paid the courtesy of
waiting until the review takes place before making hasty or intemperate or
unsubstantiated claims about either him or his intentions. That is hardly an
unreasonable suggestion in the circumstances. After all, he has categorically
committed his organisation to ensuring PAS has a future, which is more than the
government has done or anyone inside PAS can do.
As for using a national treasure for recreation, neither I nor any Heritage
Action member nor any gardener, farmer or archaeologist ever has. That is the
sole preserve of a very particular group of people.
