Conservation and Preservation for Archivists
Joint training event by the Society of Archivists Northern and
North-Western regions.

This one day training course will offer archivists the chance to develop
their preservation and conservation skills and knowledge. The training
will be provided by experienced conservators and is ideally suited to
archivists who don’t have access to regular conservation advice. Also those
needing a refresher course in conservation and preservation issues will
find this a useful and informative day. The course is open to all
archivists and paraprofessionals who are interested in improving their
awareness in conservation and preservation in all its forms.

Document Handling and Photocopying
Writing a Preservation Policy (and the impact it can have on your
service)
Packaging and Preservation
Preservation of Film and Modern Media
Caring for Photographs
The do’s and don’ts of Exhibiting Archives
