Senior Statistician/Team Leader
£39,585 - £46,916 + benefits
The Healthcare Commission exists to promote improvements in the quality of
NHS and independent healthcare in England. We do this by becoming an
authoritative and trusted source of information – and using that
information to drive improvement. This is a rare chance for an experienced
statistician to work at the forefront of healthcare regulation, using and
developing new methodologies to establish priorities in healthcare
Heading a small team in the statistics function of our Informatics
department, you‘ll develop innovative approaches for the use of healthcare
information and lead the delivery of statistical support for a variety of
assessment projects. This will involve shaping the development and
application of statistical tools and methods, as well as ensuring the
function meets its wider responsibilities.
Your background will have given you a solid understanding of applied
statistical methodology, research methods, quantitative analysis and IT
statistical packages – experience of large, health-related datasets is also
important. In addition to your technical expertise, you should have strong
problem solving and time management skills.
In return, you can look forward to excellent training and personal
development opportunities, plus an attractive package that includes a
season ticket loan and staff restaurant in our pleasant working environment.
This post will be on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2009, due to
the future merger of Health and Social Care regulation. To apply or view
