LECTURER IN MEDICAL STATISTICS (1 Year Fixed-Term)
Starting Salary: Grade 7a £29,139
A medical statistician is required to provide high quality support to
research carried out by healthcare professionals within the Research and
Development Consortium of the University Hospital of North Staffordshire,
the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust and the Robert Jones
and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital NHS Trust. A major part
of the work will be to collaborate with researchers in planning new projects
including grant applications, and in the provision of teaching sessions.
Contributions will also be made to consultancy clinics to advise health
researchers on design and analysis. The post is funded by the North
Staffordshire Research and Development Consortium.
You will possess a higher research degree in medical statistics, health
services research, epidemiology or a related discipline, and have experience
of teaching non-statisticians. In addition you should also possess a
post-graduate degree in one of these fields. You will also work successfully
with healthcare professionals from various specialties.
